One of the hindrances to performing optimally as a Leader in your Family and Organizational System is having constant stress and burnout. You can’t perform when you are constantly stressed and you can’t even create wholesomely from a place of burn-out. Today, Let’s examine 3 ways to handle stress and burnout. 1) Avoid allowing issues pile up and build up. – Ofcourse a leader like you doesn’t intentionally want things to pile up to the point of burn out. But what causes pile up? Procrastination and Indecision. One of the skills that can elevate you as a leader is the ability to make decisions on the swiftest time possible where needed and keep things moving forward without allowing things linger , where you need help, enlist help to get things done but don’t let things pile up to the point where it starts to stress you out. In the event that you need to pause something or even eliminate it, it is important that you don’t feel guilty doing so.As much as possible try not to clog up your memory and mind with pending tasks, because these are the things that lead to stress. 2) Take Breaks where needed. It is healthy for a Leader to take intentional breaks. In a culture and world where there is applause given to those who keep going without any breaks, it is important that a Leader is not motivated by the outward applauses but is motivated from a place of Purpose and Longevity, because if you don’t take breaks to recuperate your mind and body, eventually you will get to the point where you wouldn’t be effective and fruitful in what you do, this is one key thing that causes frustration, stress because of you are less fruitful that will affect the kind of results you birth and then more stress, because you start to worry. Breaks don’t have to be only Holidays…It can be an intentional time marked out on a day of the week just to refuel your Spirit, Mind and Soul because without these engines functioning well, you cannot lead. 3) Learn to lovingly say no by creating systems. People emphasize the importance of saying “no” but as Leaders, you have to move past just saying no and actually starting building systems that can solve people’s problems outside of you. Your Capacity as a Leader should grow from just being the only needed person to creating a system where you train others to go on your behalf and to creating a system where you embrace technology to create processes for you, so that when you say no personally, you can always refer these people to other options still birthed out of your Leadership. This means you have to master the ART of delegating, referring, training others and building systems and model this in your Family as well to help them grow this skill. With these 3 points, you will be able to not just manage but eliminate stress and burnout in your Life and make living in a state of calm and clarity your state of normalcy. It’s your turn, What other points do you think should be included in this list? Which one of the 3 points stood out for you? Which will you be trying out? I am looking forward to reading from you. |
