Emotional intelligence is reinforced through action. Relational leadership provides experiential learning that allows young adults to put ideas into practice.
Family systems are ideal for this. When children are encouraged to reflect on actions, to empathise with siblings, and to contribute to family decisions they are practising emotional intelligence in real time. These lived lessons embed deeply.
Leaders who provide these experiences at home, in schools, or in youth programmes give young adults the tools to become compassionate leaders who can manage pressure with grace.
Reflective question. What opportunities am I creating for young adults to practise empathy and self-leadership?
