Bringing them up to this level was a huge responsibility with God’s help.
To continue to experience the joy:
- Sentiments should not stand in the way of correction.
- Instilling values(honesty, hard work, love for God and people, integrity, accountability, etc) should be a daily affair.
- Address needs and not wants in their lives.
- Teach them how to take responsibility for their actions. Actions have consequences. They should be taught how to accept responsibility for the outcome of their actions.
- Teach them to have an individual relationship with God.
- Teach them how to treat a lady.
Achieving these require deliberate parenting. Sometimes tough and could possibly make you react sharply at times, but the outcome of intentionality pays at the end of the day.
Am I saying we are there yet? Absolutely not. We are all on a journey. Keep at it even when it seemed to you as if they are not listening. Somehow, it will go down to their subconscious mind and at the right time, the programming will start playing out.
